As a creative professional I’ve had a varied career as a national magazine designer and art director for Whittle Communications and Time Inc. Custom Publishing. I’ve traveled and worked with top American celebrity photographers including Greg Gorman, Bonnie Schiffman, Theo Westenberger, and others while art directing shoots with entertainment icons like Jane Fonda, Betty White, Henry Winkler, Richard Dreyfuss and national heroes like Sally Ride and Keith Haring.

I’ve produced national television commercials and cable network television series for major media companies including Travel Channel, HGTV, DIY Network, GAC, Fine Living Network, and Cartoon Network.

My background as a graphic designer has left me with a deep interest in pop icons—especially the rusty, decayed relics of American advertising. So naturally, I’m a follower of Warhol, Rauschenberg, Lichtenstein, and Haring.

But now, I finally have time and a dedicated space to paint in earnest. One where I can explore my interest in my pop heroes and regional artists like George Bellows, Thomas Hart Benton, Edward Hopper, and Fairfield Porter. Having a beautiful place to live and do the work you are most interested in is a gift. One I share with my wife, Bett McLean who is a potter and works in her studio along side mine here on the Gulf Coast.
